The 2026-’27 school year includes 11 early-outs on its calendar. The reasons for early outs vary throughout the year.
Due to the recent change in football from 8-man to 6-man, there are three total early dismissals for football games. The reasoning behind this is that one crew of referees usually has to work two games in one day. This means some games must be scheduled in the early afternoon so the crew can work a night game on the same day. This also includes the matter of availability for crews to work multiple games.
Superintendent Dade McDonald said that other early dismissals include Parent-Teacher conferences at the end of each quarter, as well as Staff Development Meetings for staff to discuss their focus in the school, safety and security, and possibly catching up on their schoolwork for their students.
With early out days, people often wonder if the students are getting their proper instructional hours for the school year. The required school hours for a school year are 1080
